Dear Adult Ed/HROD Students and Faculty,
You are invited to the UGALLA Fall Retreat on Saturday, October 17 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the Coverdell Building on the UGA Athens campus. The theme is "New Beginnings: Personal, Professional, and Academic Growth."
Coffee, snacks, and lunch will be provided. A suggested donation of $5-10 per person will be used to offset the cost of food. Free parking is available in the lot next to Coverdell and in the Carlton Street deck.
The goals of the Fall Retreat are to:
* Create an atmosphere where Adult Ed/HROD faculty and students can get to know each other
* Share tips for succeeding in the Adult Ed/HROD academic program
* Offer strategies for students to balance their work-school-life commitments
* Identify tactics for career success in the fields of Adult Ed and HROD
* Inform students and faculty about leadership opportunities in UGALLA
* Facilitate dialogue between students and faculty about student concerns and the future direction of the program
Concurrent 45-minute sessions will include:
* Going with Your Strengths: In Life and in Your Research
* Student Survey Open Forum
* A Strategic Perspective on Your Doctoral Journey
* A Strategic Perspective on Your Master's Journey
* Balancing School, Work,and Life
* Career Evolution of Alumni
* Succeeding as an International or Minority Student
* Succeeding as a Part-Time or Commuter Student
* Pre-Candidacy Milestones
* Post-Candidacy Endurance
